Tony Day 2003 Information

It’s that time of year again! Time for Tony’s family and friends to gather together, play tonyball (if you hit the ball to deep left field it’s an automatic out), eat good food, and share stories & memories. We hope you can attend. Make sure to spread the word!

WHEN

Tony Day will be held on Sunday, September 21st, 10am-3pm (we have the softball field reserved from 10am to 1pm).

WHERE

Barrington Rec Center in Brentwood
333 S. Barrington Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90049
(310) 476-4866

NOTE: The park is divided into two halves. We will be at the half with the tennis courts, and kids play area (not the half with the 2 softball fields and dog park next to the post office).

WHAT TO BRING

Food & Drink! Same as Tony Days past, you can bring something for the grill, chips, sodas, deserts, snacks, etc. Can someone bring a grill? They prefer gas BBQs since they provide no place to dump used coals. We are welcome to bring a coal BBQ, but we must bring the coals elsewhere to dump.

Chairs. Like last year, there are no chairs or benches. So bring some chairs, or a blanket.

Shelter. We’ll try to find a spot under some shady trees, but there are not a lot of shady trees. So a tent or two might be nice. It should be MUCH cooler than last year simply because of the park’s location.

Softball gear. Wanna play?

PARK DETAILS

Barrington Rec Center is a small park with a large softball field, basketball courts, tennis courts, and a kids play area. There are rest rooms, and a soda machine. There is a large dog-park across the street if anyone cares to bring their dogs along. The parking lot is quite small, but there is plenty of street parking (as well as a parking lot across the street, by the dog park).

Here’s the official rules of the park:

  • No alcoholic beverages.
  • No unleashed dogs (accept at the dog park across the street)
  • No amplified music
